Mixing goes digital Sound People Ltd have recently added A Yamaha M7CL 48 channel mixing desk to our hire stock. The desk was put straight into use during the festival season and gigs such as the Billy Bragg headlined "Arms aloft in Acton Town" to commemorate the death of Jo Strummer of the clash It has also added to our conference sound capability seeing use on events for Mastercard and Zurich Insurance. It adds to our existing stock of Yamaha 01V digital mixers & Allen & Heath analogue consoles. EM Acoustics added to hire stock Our stock of Meyer sound UPA1s is being replaced by EM Acoustics EMS121 speakers. Neil Brown, Managing Director said " the UPAs have been a great workhorse since the company started in 1997. We have been looking for a replacement for a while and have settled on the EM boxes. They sound as good as the old UPAs and with their uniphase crossover don't need Biamping, thus making them easy to drive and shrinking the size of the amp racks required" we still have the last few UPAs (and a pair of USW subs) for sale. Please get in touch if you are interested! Staff News Peter Fraser has recently joined us as a Trainee engineer working across the company's departments. Rumour has it he has even been seen operating lighting!! Our partnership with the Mainstage goes from strength to strength with the Diary for 2008 filling up fast Transport Regular customers may have noticed the shiny new transit bringing our kit to their sites. The old LDV convoy served us well, but was finally retired late last year. The new van does allow us to get to and from shows a bit quicker, but without exceeding the speed limit of course. New Ohm TRS series speakers added to hire stock We have recently taken delivery of another 2 stacks of these great speakers bringing out total to 8 stacks. A stack consists of a TRS218 2x18" sub and a TRS212 2x12" & 2" Mid-Hi box. This allows us to take the whole rig out as a 16kWatt system, or split it into 2 smaller rigs, or even 3 4kWatt systems for small jobs.
